I have an HP DM3, I think its the 1030US model. I play some games and I've noticed some key stickage, so I am contemplating replacing the keyboard. I see some online as cheap as under $40.

My question is, I see the DM3 1130US has a backlit keyboard. Can the backlit keyboard be installed in the 1030 that never had a backlit keyboard, or would this be a waste of money?

Take it out, run water on it (immerse it), let it dry for 24 hours, reinstall it...

(They aren't tough to take out, check out the videos below)

I did take the laptop apart and was able to fix one of my stuck keys, but the components are so close together I don't think it would be a good idea to submerse it. I still am wondering about the backlit keyboard replacement.

Obviously you will want to remove the keyboard all together, outside of the laptop, to run water over it...

By submerge I mean put it under running watter, but again, you have to take the keyboard out of the laptop..
