I am going to be starting drum lessons this Wednesday and was wondering if there were any tips you have for a beginner. The closest i have ever been to drumming is RockBand and I'm sure it's nothing like a real drum set. I was in my school's band for one year so I know the basics of time signatures and keeping the tempo and all that, so i don't need help with that. Thanks to any that can help.

Build up the chops! Also, buy a practice pad and practice in front of a mirror. And most importantly, don't get ahead of yourself. Drumming may seem easy, but it requires a LOT of practice.
