I'm not sure Google will design the computer themselves, but I am certain there will be Chrome OS computers.

They already have. They designed their own servers to run on the 12V rails only, for efficiency and simplicity of UPS, etc.

@Luke oX: Seb was banned... The comment that you see here was from June 7, 2010. He was banned from lockergnome.net on December 8, 2010 according to his profile page.

(Jun 07 '10 at 03:54) CTCB CTCB's gravatar image

I dont think so they should design their own OS (which is Chromium) but we know what happened when microsoft tried to make hardware (XBOX 360 Red Ring of Death) so maybe not.

To be fair, the xbox is a brilliant piece of hardware, I certainly haven't had any problems with mine :)

I think it's gonna end up with the OS on other brand named netbooks. Anymore power than a netbook would go to waste, like on a quad-core setup with 8GB of RAM

It will take some brilliant minds to get in line with Microsoft, Apple, or the Linux distributions. I'm not saying it's impossible...

It will be interesting to have another OS in action in a couple of years, I've seen enough of MAC vs. Windows.

They might but I hope they don't make the same marketing error they made when they released the Nexus One because that's actually a great phone
