Hello everyone. I want to know what video format, codec, bitrate, and other details should I use when exporting a movie from Sony Vegas 10. I use a Sony NEX 5 camera to record my videos, and it records them in AVCHD (.mts) format, at 1920 x 1080 resolution. I want my videos to end up being 720p resolution, and high quality but the lowest file size available. If possible, for 5 min. of video, less than 400mb of file size.. Thanks.

First, open your project. Then go to File>Properties and set the template to HDV-720p-30p/25p/24p, whichever suits your needs best. Then when you're done with editing and stuff, go to File>Render As... and choose type as Windows Media Video V11(.wmv) and template as 6 Mbps HDV. This works best for me as it gives excellent video quality and the size is around 35 MB/min. Let me know if this helped!
