How can I get the best out of my Canon 7D?

I am going to use it mainly for Hip-Hop music videos, promos, and anything Hip-Hop related. I want these videos to look amazing. I know how to do color correction in Final Cut Pro, but I want my camera to also do a great job alone. I already have the canon battery grip with 2 batteries so battery life isn't an issue.

I have sufficient memory cards. What I want now is the right lens, lights, and whatever else you think I may need for Hip-Hop music videos.

So how can I get the best out of my Canon 7D?

I'm a DSLR enthusiasts but for photography purposes. I can tell you that the lens you get will make a huge impact on the quality of video. Depending on what angles you want to shoot at and your available light will makes a difference in what lens to use.

I would get a really nice microphone. I'd get something like the Blue Yeti and record your voice separate from the camera, and then put it all together with your editing program.
