I was just looking at there site and they are charging $1,500 to recover a HDD. Do you think it is way over priced? Here is the site take a look for yourself, http://www.staples.com/sbd/cre/marketing/tech_09/repair.html

It seems a little steep to me however you should read the fine print. First of all it says no data, no charge. Once you select the files you want recovered, they do their best to recover them by sending your HDD to specialty lab and having the files recovered. Once receovered they're sent back on a new HDD. The key question here is can you put a price on some of the files you or a business for example may stand to lose if you didn't use their service and couldn't do the job yourself.

I had to send a HDD out to an external company for recovery before for a client and it was like $600 plus the cost of a new HDD but to double that price is ridicules.

Like I said, it's pretty steep and I wouldn't pay unless there was absolutley no other choice. But also consider they are charging for their services, Shipping to and from, and their services again. I'm not debating for them, it's just business. There's other companies that will provide this service, such as yours apparently and people should do their homework before paying such a steep price.
