I'm looking for an online service to upload my files too and create links for people to download files from. I came accross box.net and dropbox but I'm looking if there's any different ones that are better. What are your recommendations?

I changed the title a little, I was about to close it when I saw it, and then read the question, but I know others might not bother, so this should leave it open for you

I recommended DropBox for pretty much everything. You get 2gbs of free storage and another 250mbs for everyone you refer. Dropbox also has many other features for sharing and etc.

I am a minimalist and use free storage services, and for the past several years I have been using both:
ADrive (the free account gets 50GB free storage), and two Microsoft Live accounts with a free 25GB of storage per account. Since everyone's needs are different, I recommend both of these not only for the amount of free file storage space - but also for the fact that I've never had any trouble with them.

I have used Media Fire the most, but it can be restrictive on what you can store...

I don't really store many files online though, so if you want more storage you may want to get cloud based storage or something cheap, like rent a data server, depending upon how much you plan to store.

There are free Video / Music / Media file servers out there, just use google, research, try and learn..

If you really want the best solution you might want to try the GuruPlug...

It's a very nice solution for File Access & Sharing, from anywhere and even from many different devices, plus it makes a great home network sharing center too!

I personally like Megauplaod over the other file sharing websites because they let you upload files up 1024 MB in size (1GB) and unlimited storage. Most sites give limited storage and under 600MB for each file.

Dropbox is pretty awesome for storing/sharing files. They've got a lot of users and have really flexible plans (as well as free ones) that can suit the kind of features you want when sharing files.
