I was thinking about buying a new motherboard. Some people recommended me an iGPU over a graphics card (say, GeForce 8 series or it's ATi equivalent). What do you think?

I'm not planning to do something to resource-intensive, except play a few games. And not the newest ones. Maybe a few a couple years old.

Graphics card all the way, much more power to do whatever it is you're planning to do.

If you need more performance definedly by a Graphics card, but if you just need something to whach HD videos and browse the web that consumes small amount of electricity just buy a motherboard with an intergrated GPU

What about games? I'm not planning to play the latest games, but maybe some from a couple years ago.

I would most definitely go with a graphics card. I would say why, but its most likely gonna be pretty close to what you've clearly already read :)
