Ok I just read your first question, and realized it is JB.

Restore your phone to factory settings
Don’t sync your apps you purchased from iTunes,
Jailbreak it the way you did before, then and only then, sync your apps again. This should work.

Ugh, jailbreaking is such a pain. I did what you said, and now I'm jailbreaking with redsn0w on 4.1 and unlocking with ultrasn0w. But my phone keeps freezing at "Activating". ;__;

Can you not restore it? Plug it into iTunes, restore it, and set it up as a new phone without syncing. The next person to get it can do the rest.
