I've been considering purchasing a DSLR for the last few months but just can't decide between the available cameras. I constantly change my mind at the last moment, just before I'm certain that the one I've chosen is perfect. The ones that I've found interesting are the Canon Rebel t2i (I know about the t3i, but I don't have the money to buy that one new) and the Canon 60d.

My question today is which camera is the best one for me? Are there any better digital SLR camera for under the €800 ($1100) mark?

No offense to you or your question, as I'm not intending any what so ever; but I never understand why people ask "Which item should I buy" questions, hoping other people will tell them.

The problem with this is that we can only tell you what we would buy, based on our needs/wants for that particular item, OR our experience with that particular item. Telling you this, does not help you in any way, simply because only you know what your needs/wants are for that camera. Plus, if you already have your mind narrowed down to one or two particular models that you like and fit your needs let's say, then getting 500 other "opinions" from others may lead you right back to, as you put it "constantly changing your mind".

Again, please take no offense at my response, I just really think that only you know what you need out of a camera, and it's your homework on that product that you should rely on.

The T2i is an excellent choice for newcomers to the DSLR world and the T3i is not THAT much of an upgrade. I have a Sony Alpha 200 and now that I've learned a lot about DSLRs I want a Sony Alpha 580 because it'd be more costly to change all my lenses and accesories to Canon hehe. But if I were a "Canon guy" I'd choose the T2i right now for the price ;)

I have the Nikon D3100. It's my first DSLR, and I'm loving it. As Rizzy said, you need to be more specific about what you want out of a camera. However, as a first camera, the D3100 is an amazing entrance-level DSLR. It has great photos, and very nice 1080p video.

It's only around $700, however, you may want to invest in another lens. If you want to take landscapes or photos of large groups of people you'll want a wide angle lens (something around 11-16mm). If you want wildlife or other distant things you'll want a telephoto lens (70-300mm or so). Getting a telephoto lens with "macro" functionality can also be very interesting if you like macro style photos.

This is only my experience though, and there are certainly good cameras from other companies, although if you want a DSLR I would recommend Canon or Nikon, probably not any other companies.
