The most used domains are:

I ahve one of each of these except the AT&T one. There really are not advantages and disadvantages to the names.

I use POP3 because that is what Comcast uses for their email and that is my main.

Google provide virtually unlimited space, so much so that you need not delete any email. Google has now introduced "Priority Box" that enables you to prioritize emails, so that priority emails will show up at the top of the list. Pretty neat interface. Google also allows you to set up a email client on your computer using POP. Allows you to chat with folks in your address book (if they allow you to, of course).

Where I live, almost everybody uses hotmail, I have my own domain, so also my own e-mail address; but I do prefer IMAP over POP3, cause I can sync my folders across multiple computers

  3. aol.com 7.82%
  4. gmail.com 4.86%
  5. msn.com 2.21%
  6. comcast.net 1.84%
  7. hotmail.co.uk 1.65%
  8. sbcglobal.net 1.63%
  9. yahoo.co.uk 1.33%
  10. yahoo.co.in 1.11%

However for the end of 2010 Yahoo is top, followed by hotmail and then gmail which is still considerably smaller than the other two.
