I totally agree since their new IOS5 is a complete ripoff of:

  • Blackberry messenger

  • Androids lockscreen/pulldown notifications, wifi sync, OTA updates

  • WP7's social integration functions and camera button.

With Icloud they are also following the footsteps of Google, Amazon and Windows.

But the statement "Apple is late to the cloud" is irrelevant judging by Apple's history of being late (MP3, Phone, "Tablets")” Their power is not being innovative, but bringing existing technology to the people. (Marketing)

Only Steve jobs can make such a statement before copying functions from all major competitors.

(FYI their goal of suing samsung was to have a look at their new technologies, who is copying who now..)

Well perhaps it will a reason for me to finally buy an Iphone hahaha.

Final note; I am totally comfortable that google, rim, windows and apple steal functions from each-other, in the end this will just benefit the end consumers! (Me haha )

I agree completely with your post. Before the latest WWDC, I told my friends, "I can't wait to see what 'industry firsts' and 'new features' Apple will announce this time." They never disappoint. I'm not an Apple hater or a fanboy of any specific platform, but the way they make themselves out to be the creators of all technological advances just cracks me up.

Sadly yes. It's going to be just like the iPhone situation. Android is going to eventually surpass iOS for the iPad, but I don't think that it's as great (it needs time to mature).
