Hi all,

I'm from Costa Rica but I live in Wisconsin since 2008. I been thinking to come up with a service for the Costarican community living in the USA. I would like to broadcast live news, special events, soccer games etc so people from my country that live up here can watch them and still feel part of it.

Any ideas? Can I just use a service like UStream.tv buy a webcam and start broadcasting from the TV? That sounds a little bit lame, don't you think?

I have no idea how the whole live streaming video thing works so any suggestions will help me a lot.

Thanks

This is more of a legal battle than how to do it. You must get clearance by the broadcasting station and network to be able to even start. If you don't have that, you may face fines/violations/jailtime. I knew one company tried to do that, they faced a lot (and I mean a lot) of legal battle.

It is best to stream things for youself using a device like a slingbox and a computer.

Thanks I Know it will be hard to deal with that.

I will take your advise.

BTW: The slingbox option, Does it work in any country if I take it down there?

depending on the internet. The box controlles a DVR, Satellite, and cable box by an ir blaster, so there should be no real pickup problems
