Is My Hard Drive Dying?

I have 2 Hard Drives in my main machine My primary drive (C:/) is a SATA 250GB 2.5" with a 3.5" Converter, My secondary drive (D:/) is and 160 or 120 GB IDE 3.5". When I go to access a file or even in iTunes from the D:/ Drive I hear a beeping sound then spinning, There is also a delay on loading up files on the drive. Is my hard drive dying?

1	I'd back up just incase. USe the drive, and then stop, and wait another minute. It could be that windows turned the drive off, to save power, and this is it spinning back up. answered Mar 13 '11 at 16:09 Tim Fontana 15.3k●135●199●368

By the sounds of it, what you are experiencing is your hard drive turning on after being left alone and turning itself off. This isn't a problem. To turn it off got to advance power settings and choose to never have your HD turn off.
