I would suggest not to use illegal manner for legal doings. Probably should reboot the computer, check if its 64 bit, and retry it.

I would recommended trying to download it again. Maybe wait a day or two. Or reset your modem. Torrenting can be traced back to you. And if you got the copy illegal it really doesn't matter how long you have it installed.

Also, it might be the way you are downloading the file try using a different browser.

EDIT: When you see this window click "Download the files directly"

When I downloaded the trial it cam e with some download assistant thing...

(Mar 14 '11 at 21:45) ryebread761 ryebread761's gravatar image

There is way I think to from the assistant that you can just download the file and not use the assistant. Also, when I was trying out CS5 to see if I wanted to buy it I had problems using Chrome and was able to with IE.

(Mar 14 '11 at 21:47) TheTechDude TheTechDude's gravatar image

I never saw that window. Will try from windows was using Mac OS X.

(Mar 14 '11 at 22:11) ryebread761 ryebread761's gravatar image

That might help. Btu then you will have the Windows version and won't be able to use it in Mac OS X. What web browser were you using?

(Mar 14 '11 at 22:12) TheTechDude TheTechDude's gravatar image

I don't mind and I am using chrome on each windows is working.

(Mar 14 '11 at 22:44) ryebread761 ryebread761's gravatar image

Well that is good...I guess

Actually, many people post trial versions as torrents. So as long as the download says Trial in the filename or description, you would be good to go. In fact, I believe the installer for CS5 is in this manner - where if you dont have the serial on install, it's the trial version.

So, no, I don't believe this is illegal.

Well I got the trial to work... now on windows not OS X and thats how the installer worked. Have not installed yet because I needed to free HD space first.

Should be totally fine. No worries, even after the 30 days.. remember The person you are getting the torrent from is the only one that can get into trouble. They go after distributors more than users. Hope I helped.

TheTechDude is right. You're advertising illegal activity, we don't condone that here.

Instead of teaming up to appear important show him the rules and be done with it. And you should say "Illegal according to my laws". Maybe he doesn't live in your country you know?

I believe getting photoshop totally free and keeping it for a long time is illegal pretty much anywhere.

Make sure to disable any pop-up blocking add-ons in your browser as well. It wreaked havoc when I was downloading the Photoshop trial on my mom's laptop.

I don't appreciate being told that my suggestion is "Illegal". If it was not tolerated here, or my answer was bad a moderator would have warned me. Anyways just wanted to share that. Also it isn't really illegal unless you are distributing the software.

So it is not illegal to get something for free. If I use your analogy then if someone walks into a store ans steals something it is the stores fault because they were the one suppling it. Find my a law that states otherwise and I will state I am wrong but you are out numbered.

You have mislead me. I expect quality and trustable answers here at the lockergnome folks. You were misleading me into illegal activity. Therefore you will be on me naughty list for a while.

Oh come on.. I was not misleading you. It also depends on which country you in though.

@ryebread761 if you already knew the answer then why did you ask and then bash this answer?

(Mar 15 '11 at 07:59) Alekz Alekz's gravatar image

I had many other answers telling me the opposite of this answer including two mods. Who do I think I should trust now?

A moderator did tell you that it was bad. Two of us in fact.

"File Sharing - There will be no discussions of or links to torrenting sites. While we understand that the sites/software themselves are not illegal, most of what they are used to download IS illegal. Please do not discuss where to find the newest movie or music online "for free," share links to your favorite torrent sites, etc." - You were discussing downloading and keeping something illegally.

No. Using any form of Torrents is,

  1. Illegal
  2. Dangerous to your computer

So again, using any form of Torrents is not a good idea. It's very possible that your computer has slow internet access. If that's the case, it's going to naturally take a long time to download a file such as Photoshop.

Torrents themselves are not illegal it is that people use them for bad things. People could use them to get a Linux distribution quickly and that is legal. It even says to in the FAQ:

"While we understand that the sites/software[Torrents] themselves are not illegal"

It is just that they are used in a bad way.

(Mar 14 '11 at 21:15) TheTechDude TheTechDude's gravatar image

Torrents are not illegal, they're just used for bad reasons. Once again, TheTechDude is right on the money. High-Five

Torrents are not illegal, if people use it for illegal purposes that's another story. Some LEGAL download pages use torrents. They are not dangerous, unless you are downloading loads of porn movies from unknown websites, now that's dangerous. Your answer is totally blind.
