you shouldn't have done that. he wasn't hacked, he was being "possessed" by a facebook app that asks to access the chat.

Its not a hack nor a virus. Its just permissions that you did not read when you were told to, they even asked to access facebook chat, sending those spam to your friends through chat with your permission (but you didn't even read what they wanted), that is the way that they send it to your friends.

There is a few ways to prevent this from happening:

  • Changing Passwords won't work

  • Read what an application wants from you at the permissions page

  • Don't ever open such links.

  • Tell this to your other friends so that they can prevent them for sending crap to you

  • Always do not go to such links as there is a possibility of a keylogger, virus or many other malware getting into your computer.

If you really want to access the webpage without allowing them, just press disallow and BLINK you're there. but then they'll ask you to complete a survey by CPALead which the developer of the website uses this "scam" to get $1 from every survey completed. To get through CPALead, you need a little HTML knowledge and press "view source" by right clicking the page and finding the link to the result of the website you have been looking for without letting the "scammer" get a dollar and waste your goddamn precious time.

Remember, these links are bad.

NOTE: Thank you for reading the long amount of text, like a wall of text.

So according to your reason of using Ubuntu, this would not happen even after you give it permission to happen?
