Today I bought 2GB more RAM, I now have 4GB of RAM. I currently have Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit that recognises that I have 4GB of RAM but tells me that I can only use 3GB. Should I back up all of my files and do a fresh install of Windows 7 64 Bit? Are there any problems with comparability, etc? |

Go for it, that's all I can say. Most computers come with it, so there can't be any killer issues. I use it with 8GB and it's perfect. Does 64Bit use more system resources? No it give you access to more system resources. 32Bit has a maximum of 2,147,483,647 and 64Bit has 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 (yeah that's a big number) So it won't use up more CPU? just make sure you have a 64 bit processor Hehe... How do I know that I have one.. I have an i3 Processor. Intel Core i3 CPU M350 @ 2.27GHz.. Edit: This website says that the i3 can run 64 bit Windows.. http://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/intel-core-i7-vs-i5-vs-i3/ all Intel core I CPU's can handle 64 bits. It's among the newest line of CPU's.

I just did this myself, so far no comparability issues so far, running very smoothly. Also using 8GB now. |

I've got an Dell Vostro 3700 with 4 GB or Ram and Windows 7 Professional 64Bit and it's working perfectly. |

Both, my dad and my sister run W7 professional 64 bits and they run better than my 32 bit. Go and upgrade! |

I have had nothing, but a good experience with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. You might, however, want to check out this FAQ in case you have any other concerns: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/32-bit-and-64-bit-windows-frequently-asked-questions |
