It really depends on how much information this app can find out about a person. If all it can find is my name then fine but if it has the ability to pull my address and stuff I would not like it. I don't see it as a threat to privacy as of yet.

to my experiences, find a name is equally harmful as giving your address away. there are many ways to check cross reference and know your identity..to me it is a yellow level threat

Now that's something the government would support, I bet they will help Google in the matter. Scary. I know people say "If you haven't done anything wrong than there is nothing to be scared of", but come on, it's scary in a level that every single mistake might cost you dearly, we're still human after all.
