My Farther is a Telecommunications Engineer. He designed the Fibre Optic system for Saudi Arabia and the first Triple Play system in the UK. According to him there is a huge difference.

Could you please ask him to tell you a few of the differences and for example which career has more job availability in foreign countries and what does he actually do and what would an electronic engineer do? I know they are very related but I don't know which one is for me..

My Dad has done a lot of things. He's regarded as the top Telecommunications Engineer in Europe. He went to a LOT of countries when he worked for the ESB in Ireland. Currently he's unemployed as he was an independent contractor. But he did a lot of things, as I said, he designed the entire Fibre Optic system for Saudi Telecoms, the first triple play system in the UK for Sky (I think). Of course that may be a little out of your league, but when his career first started he worked on a lot of telephone and radio masts. He was based in ireland and worked in Bahrain for quite a while and traveled to a lot of other countries. He is also a qualified Electronic Engineer, but his field of expertise lies with Telecommunications. He's out of the country at the moment. I'll ask he about it properly when he gets back.
