I used Internet Explorer mostly for Windows Update as I am on Windows XP at this time, I also use it for some of my favourite websites websites that work better in IE.

Nothing will load for me though, facebook wont load, only the search bar and buttons at the top. (home, profile etc) Windows update wont load either, download links wont work (I tried installing a newer version of flash for IE)

Does it give a error message or does it just not do anything when you type something in the URL bar?

It loads (the green bar at the bottom loads to full) really fast and says done etc but nothing else happens it just stays like that.

Try doing this:

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Click "Tools"
  3. Click "Internet Options"
  4. Click the "Advanced" tab
  5. Click "Reset"

It is possible that your computer has been infected by a virus that might have caused Internet Explorer to stop working correctly.

  1. Download and install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php)
  2. Update Malwarebytes with the latest virus definitions
  3. Start a full scan
  4. When that has finished delete any viruses that it finds

Okay, im scanning. Why is it always me with virus trouble -.-?

Assuming you have IE8, it sounds like it might be a proxy issue.

Try this:

Open Internet Explorer.

Click on Tools then Internet Options.

Go over to the Connections tab then select LAN settings.

If you have any numbers put into the fields, delete it and uncheck any checkboxes that are ticked.

Close then reopen IE to see if it resolved the issue.

The steps TheTechDude gave should work. If it doesn't work run a virus/spyware scan, and also make sure your internet connection is working(try another computer).

Check the firewall settings on the system using the control panel and if the firewall is found causing the problem, then creating an exception for Internet Explorer would solve the issue. There are many network related settings on your computer installed with Internet Explorer and if the network settings have not been configured properly, then problems such as Internet Explorer not connecting to Internet issue would come up. All users having the Internet Explorer not connecting to Internet issue are suggested to check the network settings on the application as well as the system such as access points, default IP/ DNS address etc and reconfigure them so as to fix the issue.

You could try running Internet Explorer without add-on. You can locate this option under:

All Programs -> Desktop accessories -> System Tools -> Internet explorer ( no add-ons ).

These directions might not be 100% correct, because my version of Windows is in another language.

Have you tried uninstalling it and reinstalling internet explorer by any chance? Or at least downgrade it from 8 to version 5 or 6 that came with windows XP and tried to rebuild it back up that way? Just a good 2 cent though on it. Since I used to work in a call center and gor a couple of calls like this.

I am facing same issue. If I open IE 9 and open gmail no problem in the same bar if I open facebook or google dont take much time if I open in other tab too much taking time Mozilla as well as in IE. I create one more profile that doesnt have any issue. neither in IE nor in Mozilla.

You may want to try all the possible solutions if nothing works...reset ie, uninstall IE and downgrade or upgrade....you may want to call 8778156374.
