One of the new features in Mac OSX Lion is reverse scrolling, or what Apple refers to as iOS style scrolling. So instead of using your scroll wheel (Trackpad gestures ect.) to control which direction the scroll bar goes you're actually controlling which direction the page goes. So basically, reverse scrolling. This seems confusing and that it would take a while to get used to.

There is an application for OSX Snow Leopard that reverses scrolling so you can get used to the new way of scrolling for when Lion is finally released (http://blog.pilotmoon.com/post/4041089648/scroll-reverser-get-in-practice-for-lion).

Do you like reverse scrolling? Is it better, worse?

There is a slight learning curve if you don't own a iOS device but if you don't want reverse scrolling you can just set it back to regular scrolling in the options. But I think I would set it to regular scrolling so there isn't any confusion in my home.

Seriously? I don't get the idea. I mean, on a touchscreen it feels right, but on a mouse / touchpad? seems weird and inappropriate.

I think Apple should leave iOS to iOS and OS 10 to OS 10. I don't like how OS 10 has iOS features. Especially when the Mac doesn't have a touch screen. So it doesn't need the iOS look.

It took me exactly two days to adapt.

Love or hate? Neither. It's just different. I have a Wacom Bamboo on my left, and it's always used this "new" approach. So in a way I'm glad they all migrated together. People can adapt to anything, and typically quite quickly. One has to ask, however, how it stayed "wrong" for so long. If Apple knew all along that it was going to this...then why now? I wonder who got gestures working first in real life? That's the most interesting part of this, the viral nature of gestures rewiring existing OS's.

Took me about the same time! I definitely prefer the new way with the trackpad. Way more natural when you get the hang of it.

I don't use Mac Os. But I could see this as very confusing. I don't really see why the switch was needed but maybe to keep all of the platforms the same.

I suppose I will learn to use it and it will then become second nature to me. If you are like me, I will use it, but there will be a slight learning curve. I plan on using it the way Lion ships when it ships this summer.

EDIT Forgot to mention there is an option to change the scrolling to "normal". Thanks, Kiryu13

Apple are trying to make 10.7 like iOS so they put that in it!

Yeah not a fan myself. It's a quite confusing - I feel like I've gone demented when I forget the correct way to scroll.

I keep it on 'normal' scroll. I would be surprised if this 'feature' made it's way into the official release.
