My laptop (running Windows Xp) is really slow and I want to reinstall it. However, I don't know if the reinstalled Windows Xp will detect my WiFi hardware on my laptop. Please help! |

After the re-installation go to the manufacturer's website and download the driver for your wireless hardware. |

I was working on a friends computer and the samething happen to me. I went to the manufacturer's site as stated above and put all the drivers on a thumb drive. |

You could use a program such as DriverMax http://www.drivermax.com/index.htm. Download from here There are other free progs that do a similar job, but they basically do a backup of all your drivers for you to use on a fresh installation of Windows. |

install linux, it won't get slow + no virus's @ryebread761 But, it is an answer to his question. The Linux kernel version 2.6.38 or < most likely has the drivers for his card! |

It is very necessary to have a driver cd with you which saves your internet surfing and downloading time, otherwise ask Google uncle to help you, which is really boring if you don't get the right one + frustrating. Same thing had happened to my dad's laptop |

If you download the drivers beforehand and save them to removable media like a usb flash drive or an external HDD. Then just insert the drive and install the drivers. |
