As some of you might now my town Derry won the city of culture 2013 bid, this means a lot tourists and new jobs. I'm thinking about making a website for both tourist and locals that will help them find local business and services, I could make money from it by selling ad space to local businesses.

I have 2 questions:

  1. Do you thinks this is a good idea?

  2. I don't know much about business laws, so what rules do I need to be aware of?

I think it's a very good idea, but you need to make sure it's not already being done. I'm not sure where you are from but most places here in the US have a chamber of Commerce which lists the local business, ect. That said, I still think you have a great idea and should seriously consider doing it.

As far as rules, I'm not sure there are any involved with listing business just make sure you are willing to take a name off your list if someone complains.
