So I'm about to buy a new Mac and I was wondering, which one am I gonna benefit from in term of performance, The Imac with core i5 (2.66GHz Intel Quad Core i5 Processor, 4GB DDR3, 1TB Hard Drive) or The Macbook Pro with i7 (2.66GHz Intel Core i7, 4GB DDR3 RAM, 500GB Hard Drive)

I'm typically gonna use it for sound engineering (Logic pro) and a little bit of 3D modeling.

Thanks

I think you typed the wrong thing because those are both clocked at the same speed but you will see a couple seconds difference if you are comparing them side by side

Macbook Pro i7. Because you can go on the road and do something cool.

I agree. If cost isn't a big problem, go for the more portable Macbook. But if you want sheer power for less $$$, look for an i7 iMac on sale. I originally wanted a Macbook Pro, but I realized that I could get a way better spec'd iMac for cheaper.

The i7 on that MBP is only a dual core version of the first gen mobile i7 CPUs.
