I'm a freshmen in college so I don't have any credit at all. So if I want to go buy an iphone with either at&t or verizon are they going to credit check me? If they do, I have no credit so what happens?

you may have to go for a pay as you go or pay as you talk and buy the iphone at once. You might not be old enough to get credit.

I would think buying the phone outright would avoid a credit check. Might have to skip a few meals along the way!

I have the money... I would just be using my debit card aka visa card.

If you buy a phone out right you don't need to do anything.

If it is contract. You don't have any credit card and I hope you don't own any money to a bank. But contract does look at your credit rating.

PS, Every one has credit. But it is very low if you don't have any contracts and stuff.

Yes, AT&T and Verizon do credit checks if you are looking for service with them. The deposit that you owe is based on your credit score, but if it is high enough, you pay nothing.
