Can someone give me a checklist on what to do before being able to call ourselves "geeks" |
|
To me, you have to know technology. Love technology. Be technology. Once you're zen on the level of technology after years and years of meditation within the technological field, you become a geek. =) |
|
I say, If you like to go beyond what standard users are using their objects for, then they are a geek. If they like to go beyond in knowing about tech than standard do this and that a standard person does, then they are a geek |
|
There is no specific criteria. Geekiness is a state of mind vs a measure in physical terms. Anyone, black, white, fat, thin, old, young, girl, boy, gay, straight, ugly, rich, poor can be a geek. |

According to Wikipedia there is no clear definition of geek. In fact, Wikipedia explains it so much better than I, I'll just copy and paste with a link.

Add up which of the following devices you have. (If you have 3 of an item, put down 3, and so on.)
_ Total. If total equals at least 15, you are a Tech Geek. 1
This is utter crap, I have 5, and I consider myself a tech geek. There is no measure. wow, you expect me to have 15/20 of these things? LOL. you count all of any given item. 3 iPods = 3 4 laptops = 4 2 desktops = 2 3 converged phones = 3 How many TV's do you have and so on, granted 36" TV's may have been more realistic. I personally only have 8 of the items, but I have multiples of some. There is a difference between Tech savvy and a Tech Geek. Based on this scale:
So I have 30 out of the 15. What does that mean? You're 14 and have all that stuff?! @Mattophobia: Ya, The GPS is my dads, but I use it. I also share the game systems with my brother but other than that they are mine. well, that means you are showing off, lol, no offense.
