Why is it I lose Facebook friends... I mean like lots... & for no reason...

Example: I had 305 yesterday. Now at this time I only have 300.

Where did they go? NO one mentioned it. Funny thing is I cannot figure out who removed me, all my friends appear there. So what the heck? does this happen to you? Is it a hacker? I did change my password though.

True. Facebook doesn't have a brain, last I checked.

people delete friends for 'cleanout' reasons and others on facebook all the time. i have done it and also been aggrieved by it. also heavy users of facebook tend to be more paranoid and hostile than the average bear and its very addictive (for some people). i erased mine about 12 months ago. you will have to untangle your neurons yourself. or delete facebook, which might not be the worst idea.

If your profile was deleted then I would say hacker. But you lost a few friends. Chances are there was a few people who decided to clean out their "friends" list. I do it all the time.

Nothing to worry about on the security front, just realize not everybody is your friend on Facebook. Most are in it for the glory of saying, "I have more than you," not to be true friends. Keep that in mind and the friends you know close, and you'll be good.

It's happened to me too where 'friends' have dropped off my list. I agree with RH510...they just decided to 'clean house'. I do it too. Especially if some of these friends are made thru on-line games.

It's called people deleting you. Get over it.

Also, why would a hacker hack your facebook to delete 5 friends..?

Dude come on. If you have 305 'friends' do you really think everyone will be your 'friend' for a life time? I didn't think so. There is no hacking needed here. if you were to lose 20%+ than you should start getting worried. Now you should stop being childish.

Jup, Last year I started my Facebook account and I had 30 friends. This Saturday I decided to restart it and I had 17 friends left. Now I've got 64 friends and it wouldn't bother me if some of them were to unfriend me.

(Apr 27 '11 at 02:25) nitrocrime nitrocrime's gravatar image

Oh, no call the news!!!

Really, maybe it was just five people that deiced not to be your friend anymore. The fact that you don't know who the people are that unfriended you then don't worry about it they were not that much your friend if you don't know they are missing. I have unfriended people before it is no big deal don't worry about it.

Facebook friends count always fluctuates by atleast 2 or 3 people anyway. I've seen it change as many as 5 friends but that is rare. I wouldn't worry about it it's only 5 people and if they didn't want to be your friend you're probably better off without them anyway.

Please don't worry about it. It is a common problem whose arise frequently on facebook. Today present lots of applications in this regards. Unfriend finder is one of them whose help you to provide information about deleted person. It also helps you to get information about the people who could delete you in the future. It would be here http://darktips.com/find-out-who-deleted-you-in-your-friendlist-on-facebook/

It couldn't possibly be anything other than a compromised password.

Change your Facebook password.

Also, change your password to all of your banking sites.

Then, reboot your computer, just to be safe.

Finally, fold a USD $1 bill in half and place it on top of a napkin. Place both of these items under your pillow, then think about orange fluffy clouds before you fall asleep.

Really? I know, a bit of a silly question but is there really any need for this kind of response? Obviously I cannot stop you from making this statement and I really have no right to tell you you did anything "wrong" but personally I think it's a bit too rough.

My friend count is always changing, mine varies between 550 and 535 depending.

I have no interest in checking who it is, and what is happening, as very few of my Facebook friends are all that important to me, and I use my phone for more important conversations.

I wouldn't been bothered if most of these people removed me, there are about 20 I care about.

First of all: Quit freaking out over a Facebook profile Second: That is not a lot...It is only 5 people! Third: They probably de-friended you.

Can you really say you are friends with all 305 of them? like close enough that you care what they are doing on facebook? or are they just placeholders to make you look like you have more friends?

I recently cleaned out over 100 friends on my friends list... old coworkers... people i went to high school with but don't talk to anymore. and seeing how you dont know what friends deleted you, chances are, you should not care.

There is no hacker here, just people you dont know who decided to clean up a bit and control who has access to their personal information...

more friends = more chance of a friend getting hacked = more chance of your information getting taken. That is one reason why you should not have a lot of friends. It also means more spam messages. more hoax' that appear on your news feed I am down to 130ish now and im happy, most the people i know and speak to regularly. some are friends of friends and other are significant others of friends who even though i don't know all that well, I feel obligated to add them.
