What is the worst hosting you have ever used? |
|
Webs.com It sucks very much. It is free, and that sucks, then the paid stuff is overpriced and still sucks. |

I did not like godaddy and an asian hosting because they were expensive. Now I use iPage, great features and support + very reliable and affordable. It's only $3.50 a month. I am going to move all my websites to this hosting. |

I've forgotten the name of the worst web host I have ever had, since it was back in 1999 or so. It was a large, heavily advertised web host that only hosted Windows .ASP (Active Server Pages) based websites. Their support was almost non-existent and their servers were incredibly unstable due to staffing and hardware issues. They strung me along long enough that I could not collect on their "money back guarantee if not satisfied," but I cancelled my account with glee just to be rid of them. |

i used to self host until the power outages took out my ups . I have used several hosts all of which tend to have issues over time. I have found that you should never use a host that just installed a new datacenter unless you ask to have your servers located in the established datacenters. no company is perfect but when things beyond their control happen if they are not quick to fix the issue, move on. I have a datacenter than is on my list to avoid since its install we have been down most of june 2010. fdcservers.net in chicago is awesome, but their denver colorado facility is crap and new as of may 1 2010 |

x10hosting is a bad web host. Why? Because the servers sometimes go offline, and you have to go to their forums every few weeks or so. All I wanted is a site I can post stuff on. 000webhost is also bad, their FTP is lousy, they haven't fixed Fantastico and like x10hosting their servers often go offline. I now tend to stray away from free webhosting like x10 and 000webhost and just went with a free WordPress.com blog that isn't lousy at all. |

What annoys me is when you look at a dozen different web hosts and they offer nearly identical web sites and pricing plans, right down to the point that if you follow their whois you realize they are basically the same company. The other thing is watch out for hosts that are owned overseas. There are, for example, hosts that appear to be in the US but are actually owned by a UK company. The problem with this is if you ever have a legal issue you may have difficulty having your site protected by US laws. Right now a man is suing in a UK court to get names of wordpress bloggers, but since he would have to sue in US courts it won't be all that easy for him. |

Godaddy and Webs. They are just not quality sites. |
