How to partition hard drives in Windows 7? |
With The Windows Internal HDD Manager, or with PartedMagic |
Go to Start>Right-Click on Computer>Manage>Disk Management on the left side. Right click on your drive and "Shrink". Follow the prompts and you should have 2 drives :) |
Use the Start search box to search for "Disk Management" and it should be the top result. Then you can partition and format all the disks connected to the computer that can be written to. |

I partition it while Installing Windows 7. (it's best this way since it does a CLEAN install) Choose "Delete" and Delete all the Partitions (which you have backed up or you don't mind loosing data.) You Then Will have "Unallocated Disc Space" The more partitions you delete, the larget unallocated disc space. Then Click "New" To Specify a New partition's Size. then click "Format" To prepare that partition ready for use. If you don't use up all the "unalocated disc space" You can still create another partition by Clicking "New" then repeat the process until you use up all the Unallocated disc space. |

Thanks for the information, got it. BTW, Minitool partition wizard seems to be great! Will have a try.
