Instead of pointing fingers at a US Government conspiracy, doesn't it seem more obvious that the Pakistani government knew all along where Bin Laden was hiding and claimed ignorance of the knowledge? Here he was living in a secure house in a generally military neighborhood. Seems like something suspicious to me.

I agree. If they didn't know then they are just incompetent. I think it's more likely they knew and didn't care, which is why the US didn't tell them what we were doing until after the fact so they wouldn't tip OBL off again. Seriously, I can someone live in a house that is bigger than most, more secure than most, with no telephone or internet etc, for 5 years and no one know about it...I don't believe that for a second.

Bottom-line: Almost everyone knew that Osama bin Laden was in Pakistan for years! Osama bin Laden needed Dialysis Procedures, and there are only so many Dialysis machines, parts, techs ... in Pakistan. Pakistan was a country off limits to the USA Military, but that point was brushed under the rug in light of the raid. The powers that be in our (USA) Government knew that he was more valuable alive than dead. The decision to give the order to kill him now was/is probably to boost Obama's approval ratings. Back to your question ... Definitely YES! The Pakistani government knew where Osama bin Laden was. Duh?!

Addendum: Don't believe the no INTERNET & TELEPHONE service! Osama bin Laden was operating via wireless means (ie. Satellite phone & internet). It's documented that's how communications between terrorist cells occurred for 9/11 via public libraries/computers & free hotspots. How do you think the media got there Osama bin Laden tapes?

It would have been easy to make tapes and drive to the nearest internet access for uploading. Cells may operate via wireless, but with tracking methods as sophisticated as todays, I don't see OBL's people being stupid enough to leave their phones on while going to the compound. It was apparently accidental that one of their leaders was tracked by a mobile phone to the hideout, he accidentally left it on one day.

From the recently released videos however, it's obvious they had electricity and satellite television - they showed Osama watching himself on tv and even using a remote control. I guess he didn't want to miss out on the "Sex and the City 2" movie.

oh they knew, I've lived in Pakistan for a while, and you cant really go anywhere without an ID card, and you cant do much without an ID card, (although fake ones are easy to get), since he was living in such a high security location, I'm pretty sure they knew who he was and that he was there, maybe the local military and police knew, don't know haw far up the command the knowledge went though.

from the video's released, it doesn't look like he was living like anyone with money, he looked like he was living the life of a poor person, poor TV and crappy bed (you can get some pretty nice things if you have the money) which makes me think of 2 things, one i wont mention because it will go into too much debating, but the other is that he was keeping himself low key, trying to stay off the radar, as it's required in Pakistan with most things to show your Pakistani Identity card when moving around or purchasing electronics and such.

so my guess is he was probably known to be there locally and by the local police and military, but kept safe by those people.
