Well now Microsoft has put in a bid to buy Skype. But which company should buy Skype? Google? Microsoft? Facebook? |

Confirmed for Microsoft. http://www.microsoft.com/Presspass/press/2011/may11/05-10CorpNewsPR.mspx "Skype’s vice president and general manager of its Global Consumer team, would not reveal exactly how the increased level of advertising would affect those making video calls but did say: “The key thing will be not to get in the way of the calls…We need to find a clever way of doing it" |

I guess since Microsoft will now ruin Skype by Microsoft-ing it, the competitors of Skype can rejoice: |
|
Cisco will buy it. I honestly don't see much social networking value, but I think it complements Cisco's current offerings. |
|
Microsoft could use their vast array of resources to improve it... since it has a good start. |
|
Cisco should buy them out, they're really good on VoIP. |

I would have to say google. Microsoft will work on the Windows version most and give it's users the features first. Then they will give them to Mac users and poor linux never get's updates already won't get any. Maybe they will even drop the product. |

I'm glad microsoft bought it. I hope they use it to replace Live messenger although the UI needs work. I hope it comes pre-installed as a way to battle ichat. I still prefer to use skype on my mac just because it's inter-platform |
