What's your favorite Science Fiction Book/Series? I Love Douglas Adam's "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". I'm also considering reading the Dune series.

Philip Kindred Dick (December 16, 1928 – March 2, 1982) was an American novelist, short story writer and essayist whose published work is almost entirely in the science fiction genre. Dick explored sociological, political and metaphysical themes in novels dominated by monopolistic corporations, authoritarian governments and altered states. In his later works Dick's thematic focus strongly reflected his personal interest in metaphysics and theology. He often drew upon his own life experiences in addressing the nature of drug abuse, paranoia and schizophrenia, and transcendental experiences in novels such as A Scanner Darkly and VALIS.[6] ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_K._Dick

BLADE RUNNER: A BETTER LIFE AWAITS

What makes us human? That's the question of the film.

After reading Philip K. Dick's brilliant novel, ' Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep,' then seeing Ridley Scott's haunting and hypnotic BLADE RUNNER, I wonder what exactly makes us human beings or not human beings? To be, or not to be... that is the question.

Special thanks goes to my good friend Steve McGarry and his lovely wife for suggesting the title, ' A Better Life Awaits.'

I regularly reread Robert McCammon's 'Swan Song' - great post-apocalyptic tale.
In the same vein, Stephen King's 'The Stand'

Any Larry Niven book: Ringworld, Oath of Fealty, The Mote in God's Eye, World of Ptavvs, Protector, Dream Park, ...

Almost any Heinlein, and don't forget Frank Herbert's 'Dune' (the first three books)
