Hi there folks, At the moment I am using Chrome v. 11.0.696.68. Today I decided to give the new Firefox 4 a go, and I was very impressed. The speed is very fast, maybe even faster than Chrome. However, I am finding the download speed of Firefox 4 to be a let down. Firefox is downloading files at less than 50% the speed than Chrome is. For example. As a test I decided to download the Shutter Island Game demo from macgamefiles.com. Chrome downloaded this file at about 2,3 mb/sec. Firefox 4 was downloading it at 800kb/sec. I did a few other tests and came up with the same result. Are other people experiencing this? I am thinking about switching, but the slower download speeds are a huge let down. Thanks in advance! PS : Sorry for any English mistakes. :) |

I cap out in both at around 200kB/s but get ~300kB/s if I use jdownloader. |

Assuming Firefox and Chrome on your computer use the same connection methods and servers, they should download at roughly the same rate. It's simply a lengthy HTTP connection. I'm fairly certain you'd reach your bandwidth cap before reaching the software's limitations. |

Thanks for the answers guys. I'll just stick to Chrome for now. :) |
