A friend running Windows Vista Ultimate, wants to install Windows 7 but wants to test it for a week before migrating fully. Which installation option do I need to choose to accomplish this?

I'm not sure this is possible, nor do I recommend staying with Vista at all.

Maybe if your friend has a second drive or is willing to partition his drive and install 7 on a partition, that might work.

However I would recommend if he's already purchased the upgrade, go ahead and implement it.

This is a netbook computer, funny thing is that it has a CD ROM/DVD. It has one USB but has broken. It doesn't have any extra hhd. He is willing to try windows 7 for a week or so... Thanks!

Just download Windows 7 off a you know what site and test it.

If he likes it buy Windows.

Nothing wrong in that!
