Im stuck between these two laptops. The specs are almost the same however the Lenovo is cheaper and has a more powerful processor but i do like how the Alienware model looks . Give me your opinion. I'm going to do some gaming and lots of media based stuff. I know these 2 models are more than enough but i just want to blow some money on a good laptop and not have to worry about getting a new one for years to come. The first one. It's got a better graphics chip, more RAM, larger HDD. |

I recently bought one laptop over another because of it's looks. I regret it now, I'd much rather have 8GB of ram instead of 6GB. I'd also much rather have a nice Lenovo that doesn't overheat as much as this one does. |

I would pick the Lenovo IdeaPad. The stats are superior in every category except for maybe sound, but 99.9% of the time, the content and your speakers will only be in stereo. Even if the stats were exactly the same, I don't think it is worth $100 just for a better looking laptop. The RAM and HD would be easy to upgrade, but it would probably cost you at least another hundred dollars. On a side note, its amazing how laptop prices have dropped, I bought a similar priced laptop a few years ago with a dual core processor, 256mb graphics, 4gb ddr2 ram, and a 250 hd. |

The Lenovo for the sake of it being a Lenovo and not owned by Dell, meaning you won't have that bad of support if something goes wrong. |

Offhand I think both of them are overpriced. I guess the i7 is better priced, but nearly $1200 for a 14 inch monitor, dunno about that. On the other hand my wife has a 17 inch widescreen and it is heavy and runs hot. So if I replace this one I will probably again go for a 15. Anyway, I think that much money is a lot for the size, but I guess you're probably paying for the processor and the lenovo name brand. Go for the first one, it's more bang for the buck. |

The first one is both cheaper and has a better spec so to me its a simple choice - IdeaPad. |
|
Thanks for your help guys. I'm most likely going to get the Lenovo. I just needed the extra push of opinions |

Lenovo. Better specs, cheaper and doesn't come with trial software. (that's noted) |
|
The first one: ASUS-X5DIJ-SX536V-Laptop/676942 You get more: 4 GB Ram and 500 GB memory at a better price. I Very like ASUS as well. Good computers and Features. |
