Okay, so I have a BT Hub that is used for my internet connection, and when I go to Network on my PC, I can see that my user is being shared across the network. How can I change this so none of my files are being shared but I obviously still want Internet access. Thank you!

Open the control panel > network and sharing center > Advanced sharing settings

Then change the setting to how you want. You can turn of file sharing and network discovery and that should stop sharing.

If you don't want anything shared, the easiest way to do this is to go into your network adapter properties and untick the checkbox next to File and Printer Sharing.
