I love how everyone is complaining but it is still the #1 selling gaming console out there.

No it's not.. The Xbox 360 is the 9th best selling console of all time. The PS2 has sold the most, followed by the DS, The Gameboy Color, The PS1, The Wii, The GBA, The PSP then the NES.

(Jun 04 '11 at 13:48) Mattophobia ♦♦ Mattophobia's gravatar image

Why is the Gameboy advanced on your list twice?

(Jun 04 '11 at 15:36) Feras Feras's gravatar image

Also, there's a noticeable difference between a console and a handheld.

Woops. Fixed.

Fine, the PS2, PS1, Wii, and NES are above the Xbox 360 as home consoles.

"I want hate answers only!" What else were you expecting from a question that asks what people "hate" about the Xbox?

(Jun 04 '11 at 17:11) DazOwen DazOwen's gravatar image

The PS2 won both it's generation's console wars and this generations.

He never said it was the #1 selling game console of all time, he said it was the #1 selling console out there, at the moment.

you have to pay for the overpriced XBOX LIVE! Why would you have to pay 60 bucks for something you can get for free on an equally as entertaining ps3 or pc? i understand you can pay less, but for less time! it sorta forces you to pay for a year if you dont want to keep buying every month.

Well you can be a silver member and receive many of the benefits. Face it for good service you have to pay.

(Jun 08 '10 at 02:11) dayfire dayfire's gravatar image

And I'm gonna correct you, I gladly pay the $50 for 13 months.

Overpriced? Wtf, are you serious?

(Jun 15 '10 at 05:55) Jarrichvdv Jarrichvdv's gravatar image

NOT overpriced. there are so many other benifits that come with being a gold member that it is worth it.

(Jun 04 '11 at 12:37) iGeek3 iGeek3's gravatar image

It is overpriced. You get the same features on a PS3 for free and that even comes with a web browser.

Well at least Xbox Live doesn't get hacked and all users information stolen. -_-

(Jun 04 '11 at 13:49) Mattophobia ♦♦ Mattophobia's gravatar image

Xbox Live was down for two weeks because its servers could not handle a lot of people on at the same time back then. Surely with the money they were making from Xbox live they could have bought enough servers?

(Jun 04 '11 at 16:58) Feras Feras's gravatar image

I can deal with a little downtime, as I have better things to be doing than playing video games. I'd be much more worried about having personal information stolen. Fun facts: The last hack on Sony was done via SQL injection, one of the simplest attacks to prevent against. In addition, they store all passwords in plain-text, showing they don't care about the information entrusted with them.

(Jun 04 '11 at 18:10) eddieringle eddieringle's gravatar image

Matt, Nintendo just got hacked too. If they went for Xbox I am sure they would succeed.

  • The fact you have to pay to play online

  • The red ring of death

  • The crappy hardware

  • The fact you have to buy a wireless adapter (older versions)

  • The lack of features (no internet browser, no blu ray)

  • The discs are limited in capacity thus poorer game experience (LA Noire has 3 discs....)

  • The dashboard (adverts and not the easiest to use)

  • The "Microsoft Points" system (Stupid marketing strategy)

  • The support given shudders

  • The people online (Too many kids & douches [IMO])

The red ring of death and the fact that the heat sink on the xbox's GPU is WAY TOO SMALL!

The fact that they skimped on the heat sink, thus causing the dreaded RROD

The "Red Ring of Death" is pretty bad. The fact that you have to pay for "X-Box Live" kind of stinks, compared to the Sony Playstation is currently free. A $100 for a Wifi adapter. Really?

They have cheaper Wifi adapters. its just takes some looking around at different stores and websites. It just takes a lot of time if you dont know where to look, which can be a downside to some people that dont like waiting and searching.

My brother and one of my friends got Xbox and they whip my ass all the time at Halo. A right beating. And that's what put me off Xbox.

Considering it was released in 2005, I'd say it's hardware is pretty decent. Also, DirectX 9 was all they could use at the time, as DirectX 10 wasn't released until 2006.

The Xbox is a good console, however like every console, it has problems. The Xbox has RROD (Red ring of death), and also the fact that it costs money to go online when ps3 is tottaly free.

Yeah overpriced parts, RROD problem was big, but they have fixed that. But the PS3 has problems aswell.

I Would still prefer Xbox, because of price/games.

They haven't completely fixed Red ring of death yet just reduced chances of it happening in older xbox 360 models
