Is content king?

IS it worth taking away all my blogger gadgets to make the main content the only thing on the page, is content king or are the gadgets necessary?

I don't see many "blogger gadgets". Could you be more specific?

Gadgets like the followers box and recent tweets, everything in the right hand column is a gadget.

I don't know that the gadgets are necessary but they don't seem to take away from the page any and they allow people to "follow" you so it does perform a function. The page frankly looks fine how it is now.

The gadgets are nothing much of a big deal, but if you produce bad content, your site won't get very far.

I understand that, so what would you do? Make the content the full opage and take away the gadgets, or leave it how it is?

Keep the gadgets for the Archives, Tags, etc. The widgets should only be removed from the side when you have a photoblog.

Your gadgets aren't over powering at all. While content is king most of the time, you have to be able to market yourself too. Keep spreading the word about your site, link share, give your readers something that can't get somewhere else, or make what you give better than someone else. That's how you build traffic and followers.
