You hear people's hatred towards Microsoft a lot and Apple usually is involved someway. Some people probably have never used a PC before and that's when it becomes stupid. I've been using a PC from about 7 years now and now that I'm on Win7, I've had to alter the design a bit because I was so used to Vista.

The Microsoft Windows hate seems really strong at times and I really cannot even see why unless it had to do with Vista in part, at least regarding their operating systems. Sure I do not agree with everything the company does nor do I agree with Apple on all points. No point in hating.

People don't use Apple as a reason hate Microsoft, Apple is much more then Mac OS X now, the same really can't be said about Microsoft and Windows apart from the Xbox. Microsoft and Apple are very different companies so really Apple fan boys should really hate HP, samsung, HTC rather then Microsoft.

I disagree. Apple and Microsoft are very similar companies with similar goals. Apple wants PC dominance, so does Microsoft. Apple wants phone and tablet dominance. So does Microsoft.

their similar goal is if they can't think something good, just copy each together and that is what Microsoft is doing right now.

I use Windows all the time, but sometimes I wish I had both. Why should you hate Windows? Yes it has some bad points, but it also has a lot of good ones, as does the Apple OS. If you use Windows, you'll notice that you're able to do a lot of things, because it is and was the largest platform for software. But if you have used an Macbook for example, you'll notice that it is stable, fast and simple.

I understand some of the hate subjects from the Apple community to the one of Windows, but guys: VISTA IS ALREADY THE PAST. We use Windows 7 now! It is just fine for me, for anyone too I suppose. It might not be perfect, but who cares!?! But if you really want to rely on your PC for 24/7 with the best support no matter what the costs are, then you should buy a Mac. Otherwise, you'll be fine with a cheaper Windows PC. If you want to be very productive on both platforms, just buy a Mac with Parallels.

Apple fan-boys can hate Windows, surely! But EVERY OS has good things and bad things.

It's always Apple. Apple's little slave monkeys and 85-90% of Geeks hate Microsoft. It irritates me how they always get bashed. I mean come on there tryin'! They lowered Windows 8 upgrade to $40 and came out with an Amazing tablet.

I think that the battle between the two groups are ongoing. Both sides think they are the greatest, and they will continue to think that. It is like dark and light, the two opposites. Apple has pro's and con's, as does Microsoft. There is no middle ground.

The way I see it they both started in a niche market in the late 70's One dealing with software(MS_ while the other dealing with the hardware aspects(Apple). I look back When I had gotten my first computer to use in high school. was an Apple ][E back then. Do I hate or like one over the other. Not really personally. Microsoft did help Apple in some aspects of things like programming languages for their first computers and a few other things. And when Apple was in dire straights for help when Steve Jobs came back to make what Apple is today. I use both systems over here and can say they both have their own strengths and weaknesses. I do tend to use an alternative to either operating systems as well which happens to a Linux or Unix variant. Again with it's own set of strength and weaknesses well. Just to say to hate one more over than the other has no value and is just creating a argument over nothing.

Why put so much effort into using an unrelated product to hate microsoft when they are already supplying reasons to hate them on their own, for example, the metro UI crap in windows 8.

Sounds like it goes beyond the operating system since Windows 7 is near perfect. Apple does appear to have to nice software, need to test it out one day.

I like this answer but it is a bit strong. I can say that I turned to using Mac after the countless issues I had with many versions of Windows and Microsofts poor attitude towards their customers. I have had none of these problems with Apple. I still use Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit on a partition on my iMac. I use it for gaming and the odd bit of Java programming but thats it. Neither company is perfect but in my opinion, Apple is far more dedicated to its customers and even if you are a windows fan, you can't deny Mac OSX is a great OS. Admittedly I am impressed with Windows 7. It's not enough to become my primary OS but it is doing well.
