I took care of my father who had Parkinson's Decease when he passed and Alzheimer's /Dementia is often big part of that decease as well. It was a tough thing to watch.

My grandmother had alzheimers. She died back in 1990 after a lengthy illness. She was bedridden for several years before she died. My mother took care of her. It was so sad, because I really think she could have had a better quality life if we had known more about how to care for her. Her doctor just put her on some antipsychotic meds, which (I believe) contributed to her deteriorating much faster.

My grandmother had Alzheimer's disease. She battled it for about 3-4 years before she passed on. It was rather scary seeing her die in my eyes. Getting the chills is nothing compared to death happening in front of you.
