Hi everyone, I was hoping someone had a solution for lag during game play on a laptop. (Minecraft is very hard to play with lag, yes I'm a Minecraft freak)

The lag only happens when I do not have my laptop plugged in.

The obvious fix has been to always keep my laptop plugged in during game play. The problem with this is that my battery life is being slaughtered, and I'm getting second degree burns on my thighs from my laptop fan.

I've bought a fan mat, to help with the over heating, but that still doesn't help the fact that my laptop battery is playing the price. I was hoping someone had any tips or solution for this problem because I'm sure other laptop gamers have this same issue. Not playing Minecraft is not an option, it's like Chris not being the most awesome geek ever.

Thanks for reading

Have you checked your power options if the laptop downclocks when it is not plugged in.

I have noticed that it does switch to 'power saver' mode when I unplug it, if I switch these settings to max power, I'd have to plug in my laptop to charge it 20 mins later.

well, you have to decide if you want quality over time then

This is true, it's damn near impossible to play anything with lag. Eh I guess slaughter my battery and get a double life one when the time comes to replace it. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it :)

well since you got that sorted i might also suggest investing in a laptop stand with cooling fans.... that way you have something to set your laptop on and dont have to worry about it getting too hot.... save your legs from the heat lol

My laptop has been running happily on a Griffin Elevator stand, for almost a couple of weeks now, which has knocked down the CPU temp by 20C on full load, even though I keep my Macbook plugged in all the time, it's raised like 4 inches up off my desk surface and it seems to help.
