Hi everyone. I'm thinking of getting a new laptop. What is better 17 inch laptop or 15 inch laptop? I found two of them with the same RAM, hard drive space, and processor. The only deference was the screen. I'm planning on using it at school and most of the time at home. They both have full keyboard with the number pad but I still don't know which one to pick.

Excuse my English :p

If your planning to be mobile get the 15 inch however its up to you I tend to always go for 17inch because of the graphics work that I do requires the larger screen but its up to you if your not really planning to play games or watch films and all your doing is surfing the web or word processing then the 15 inch should be fine

I have a 17" laptop. Mainly because I wanted the larger screen. However if you are going to be carrying it around I would suggest buying the 15" because it will be lighter and easier to carry.

Depends on what you want to do with your laptop. 17 inch gives more screen real-estate for tasks.

The only two cons you're gonna have with a bigger screen would be decreased battery life and lesser portability.

17 inches just seems a little to big and bulky to have to carry around, but thats just my opinion.

For portability, go for 15. Just get a 20-24 inch monitor if you want a bigger screen for multi tasking.

I commute to and from work everyday on the train, and due to it being a 53 minute journey I take a computer with me. Up until last April, I took an 17" LG laptop with me, this weighed 4,5Kg, and that together with other things I take to and from work got rather heavy...

So I would (speaking from experiance here) go for the 15"!

I must say however I went for a 13" Macbook Pro over a year ago :)
