I'm not sure if my iPod has a defective battery or not. I've been reading around forums and its normal for and iPod to get warm after long usage of time or playing games, but my iPod gets hot hot around 5-10 mins of playing a game, same happens with youtube and my batter seems to last somewhere around 3-4 hours max from 100%, and on standby it cant even last a full night from 100%, so i was wondering do i have a defective battery or is this normal?

Well if your battery only lasts that long then there must be a problem with it. My iPod Touch 4G is about six months old and when charged 100% it can last for days on standby and hours while in use. It could have been down to you charging the battery too often, thus overcharging it and now it can't hold its charge.

It is normal for it to get hot while playing games, not so much on YouTube. Try running down the battery until the device powers its self off charge it to 100% and then use it like normal. If this dose not help call apple it is probably still under warranty.
