Mostly the way the URL appears. Like, the page may not display the date in the url. Also, you can publish and unpublish pages, or have them appear in menus. Entries are designed to be linked by date, so if you want to browse a blog by a months worth of entries it will do that. So in the end I guess the biggest difference is in how the filtering works. The actual database design of them, its basically identical.
If you really want to get into the CSS under the wordpress theme you're using, you can get really specific about how pages appear in contrast to how posts appear. But most people don't get that specific, preferring instead to download third-party, pre-made themes for WordPress.
