So, I am asking this simple question but I have a feeling these answers will be interesting. Ok, will Battlefield 3 "shoot down" the Call of Duty community? Will Black Ops be abandoned , have lower amount of players , or stay the same? Or will Modern Warfare 3 hurt the Battlefield community? I am very anxiously waiting for answers. Thanks. |

I'm not really much of a shooter fan, but it seems that more and more of my friends (that do like these types of games) are less excited for the release of the new Call of Duty game. When Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 came out, it seemed like the biggest game on the planet. Only a few people I know are pre-ordering Call of Duty 3. I have heard a few people talking about Battlefield 3, not as many as the new Call of Duty, but I think the game will become popular, if it has more features than Call of Duty. I've played one of the Call of Duty games for about 2 hours, and it was really boring, and repetitive, but that's my opinion. If a game wants to takeover the market, it has to have a whole new gameplay experience that no other game has. |

I think in terms of the console community, it will for most part stay the same. People like to stick to what they know which is just grabbing a gun and running around a level blowing people up. I'm not saying the entire community is like that but I think a good chunk of them are so I can see a lot of more mature gamers considering moving away from the console. The PC community however I think will be a lot more battlefield based as stated above because of it having more features. It will have notably higher visuals for one part which will hopefully produce a more mature community as it will not take any pushover system your parents bought you from 5-10 years ago to run (at least with a decent amount of eye candy.) Perhaps this game will be a fairly big blow to the CoD community(it won't "destroy" it) but I just see them making a new engine for the next CoD if Battlefield 3 becomes that popular and perhaps even have better future support for the PC platform because in the end they like to make money and hey...who doesn't.... <3 Money |

Battlefield 3 is more of a "war simulator" compared to Call of Duty. It doesn't have the arcade style /pick up and play element that Call of Duty has. Anyone who buys Battlefield 3 will more than likely buy Modern Warfare 3 anyway. |
