If the link doesn't work for some here are the specs: Toshiba Satellite A665-S5170, Windows 7 64 bit, Intel Core i3, 2.53 ghz, 15.6 screen with 1366x768, 4gb RAM DDR3, 640gb hard drive
all that for under $600..so what do you think?

Why don't you just buy a copy of Windows, and install it on a partition of your harddrive via Boot Camp? It would be considerably cheaper...

I'm planning to use it for small things like surf the web, listen to music and social networking.
I think a netbook like the Dell Inspirion 1012 which is for all those above in the price about half of that of the laptop you are planning to purchase.
Also like @Justin said, you can just use Boot Camp for a Windows platform.
