im thinking about buying a mac book, i have never used a mac before and have around £700 to maybe £800 to spend, can anyone recommend one for me, thank you :) |

All the MacBooks are out of your budget. The cheapest available (MacBook and MaBook Air) are both just over £800. I recommend you do some more saving first. ok soo say i could get my hands on say another £200 bringing my total to £1000? what would you say they? sorry should of said im a student, soo apple products are cheaper arnt they? If you can get £1000 then I suggest you get the 13" MacBook Pro: http://bit.ly/p5gLxL It depends what you'll be doing with it. Also, the education discount isn't that much. Have you considered Apple referbs, Amazon (They are cheaper) or places such as Pc World clearence?

I would recommend the Vaio S. It has a modern 2nd generation Intel CPU and a dedicated GPU. http://www.sony.co.uk/product/vn-s-series. Pretty good for £800 ^_^ He's asking for a MacBook. sorry but it has to be a mac, i lost a bet, which is better mac or windows, i picked windows and of course :( You lost a bet so you're spending your money on a Mac? Are you serious? Don't spend that much money because you have to, only buy it if you need it. yer i need a new computer aswell, well, i want a new computer, You lost a bet, saying Windows is better? Who's the judge? Both OS X and Windows are great operating systems, and neither is better than the other. Saying one is better is someone opinion, not a true fact. For me, I use both OS X and Windows 7. I like to use Windows more than OS X. But that's my opinion. My friend likes to use OS X more. That's his opinion. You should buy a more expensive computer because you lost a bet, but only because you need that machine. If you want a Mac, and you are using it for school, its great you get a discount. I would suggest getting a MacBook Air, as they are light, and would be perfect for school work. Word processing, and web browsing, you really don't need power for. My 2006 MacBook can do that just fine, so power is something you don't need. However, I believe if you go to the Microsoft store, they offer discounts to students. The Sony Vaio. Sony makes nice computers. Seriously you're getting one due to a bet?

If you can get up to £1000 and use your student discount I would recommend getting a 13" MacBook Pro. |

If you can get a macbook pro 13" then do that, if not then build an amazing tower PC its not mac but you MIGHT be able to get more for your money if you shop around for good quality parts then maybe even once you got the name look for sales on that part.:) |

Iy'd recommend the 13" Air based on your price range and would guess are most likely your needs, in my opinion (and others) the 13" Pro is a waist of time why carry around a fat, heavy laptop? when theres just as good of one for the same price and 1/4 of the size. Also check out the refurbs on Apple's website there a great way to save money. If it has to be new try waiting for Apple to do a there black friday sales. Hope it helps. |
