iTunes Library Duplicates

I have a lot of duplicates in my iTunes library. Are there any good/free programs that will get rid of them for me?

iTunes has this built-in I believe. If you go to file -> Show duplicates :)

Note: This shows all the songs that it finds has a duplicate (it doesn't show just the duplicates, so be careful not to delete some songs from your library!)

I'm also in the same situation at the moment. I had to do a clean install of Windows recently and since you can't back up your iTunes library onto an external drive directly through iTunes itself, apple suggested that I copy the folder housing my media into the location of where it is on the new installation. So I did. After doing this my 25GB of music turned into about 35GB and there are doubles and even triples of most songs which is simply too many to manually delete one by one. I can't see why iTunes just makes it so you can't back up onto HDDs just like with the DVDs...

i did the same i copied my Itunes media folder over to an external HHD, anyways iv bought a program called ideduper you get 10 free ones and you pay for the rest it works well but, was alot of money for a one time use.
