I'm looking for advice on what to get. I would like to get an HP but am open to any other suggestions from an experienced user. I need a multi-function, color, laser printer. I need something that doesn't use a lot of toner and isn't going to eat me out of house and home when I need to refill it. I've seen some where the toner costs more than the printer. That's definitely not what I'm looking for. It's for personal use, not business use.

Thanks in advance. :)

Rule of thumb: AVOID HP. HP stands for Horrible Printers and therefore you don't want them

OK get HP if you want. I've never liked HP that much mostly because I've had very little luck with them. Lexmark is a good brand to check out. Brother is good, but I don't know anything about their products, nor have I had any experience with them. And if you want to get HP then go ahead because I have never had much experience with HP laser printers. Maybe they are pretty decent. I just think HP tends to cheap out on us and the quality of at least their inkjet printers are shotty in my opinion.

I've never had a problem with HP. Maybe HP stands for Horrible Plaptops...lol...I wouldn't know because I've never owned one. But, I have experienced their printers before and they've got no complaints from me. My grandma is still using an HP 1600 and she prints all the time and never has an issue with it. Her only issue is that they discontinued the model that she uses. Now, when her printer goes out, she doesn't know WHAT she's going to do. I had an HP PSC 1600 I don't remember having any issues with back in the day. So, no. Telling me that HP makes horrible printers is like telling me that Canon cameras are worthless.

I've heard good things about their computers. I just have had so many malfunctions with our HP printer that I'm sick of them. But like I said, buy what works for you.
