Hello everyone. Can anyone tell me what the performance of mac os x lion is like on the white macbook with 2 gb of ram and the intel core 2 duo processor. I am thinking about upgrading , but I am not sure if it is going to make my macbook unusable. Any help would be great. Thank You |

Works fine. Maybe the occasional lag due to the "new" aspect of the OS and the fact it usually takes until 10.x.3 until all major flaws are cleared. Other than that, works very well! |

Installed Lion on my 2009 White Macbook 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB of ram about a week ago. It was a bit jittery for a few hours whilst spotlight sorted itself out and time machine did a large backup, I had to stop this twice as it never seemed to finnish. There has been some excessive fan noise since installation and does seem to be running hotter than usual. Time machines backups seem to be larger than usual. The Macbook has frozen on several occasions and has become totally unresponsive forcing me to crash and restart. This is possibly flash related problem, as I have just installed new version now, will have to see if that works. Overall running several applications at a time is OK, but having 4 GB of RAM is a necessity. |

Boy, the fans are way too much rotating after Lion installation. White MacBook, early 2008, 4GB Ram, 2,4GHz, 128 GB SSD with Trim and Self Garbage Collection. I don't know. On Snow Leopard i didn't hear the fan noise very often, but with Lion now it drives me nuts. Considering going back to SL, seriously. |
